Tony Pain to retire from DAF Trucks
Tony Pain, 63, DAF’s long term and highly respected Marketing Director, is to retire from the company later this year.Announcing this to staff today, Ray Ashworth, Managing Director of DAF Trucks Ltd, said: “After 45 years with Leyland, Leyland DAF and DAF, Tony has decided that he has probably learnt enough about the truck market so it is with some sadness that I have to announce that Tony will retire on Friday 4th October 2013. Tony is recognised as one of the most knowledgeable people in the truck industry not only by his colleagues at DAF but also by the media, dealers, customers and even competitors. His expertise and contribution will be greatly missed. I am sure that you will all join me in wishing Tony a long and relaxing retirement”.Phil Moon, well known to the CV media, is appointed Marketing Manager and will have responsibility for all media-facing aspects of DAF’s affairs together with other marketing matters. Mr Moon, formerly with Foden, has been Product Marketing Manager at DAF for eight years.
